e-Knifeholder wins 2009 Technology of the Year Award

The industry's first all-electronic knife holder by Tidland has earned the "2009 Technology of the Year" award from the Association of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL). The award follows another recent win for the category of Coating/Laminating Equipment/Accessories from the association. According to AIMCAL, the judges were impressed by increases in productivity and safety achieved by reducing the need for intervention by an operator. “Standardizing settings eliminate a lot of waste and downtime,” observed one judge. “Now the operator only has to worry about blade sharpness,” noted another. “It’s a nice upgrade to an old piece of equipment,” he concluded.
